IN LG 47LV5500 TV has no lighting issues (black / light side) and the screen is actually better for us because it's not shiny like other flat-screen TV. The sound is good enough for us, but we are planning to buy a good bar that can also handle an iPod.
Remote controls are good, with two of them, so my husband can use one and I can use another. We like the style of the Wii controller, Took a bit to figure it out (we are old 
), but now think it is better to use the remote control. One problem with the style of the Wii is that it is shapped so that when you roll over and mute the TV.
